With the IPL dominating all of the cricketing headlines across the globe, you may have missed the opening Test between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka last week. But red ball and Test fans were captivated by a contest with three low-scoring innings and one dominating and ultimately match-winning effort.
Bangladesh selected a team with an eye on the future and the inexperienced group were well and truly schooled in the art of Test cricket by some much more experienced heads from Sri Lanka.
Will it be more of the same in Chattogram? We are expecting a closer contest. Read on!

There was a debut for Nahid Rana for the hosts in Sylhet and the right-arm medium fast bowler will be expecting to retain his place for this Second Test after picking up five wickets but also leaking over 200 runs.
Bangladesh will be hoping they have learnt their lessons, particularly with the bat, ahead of this game. And, on a wicket which is expected to be more of a turner, the home team management will be looking for more than the solitary half-century which the side produced in the opening Test of the series.
With the ball, Shoriful Islam will be hoping to bring his white ball form into the Test arena with spinning all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz coming into this match after taking a four-wicket haul in the second innings in Sylhet.

"More of the same" will be the call from the Sri Lanka fans and team management ahead of this game after they produced a dominating victory in Sylhet. However, the visitors will be without Kasun Rajitha in Chattogram after he injured his back while playing in the opening Test. In place of Rajitha, Asitha Fernando is predicted to take his place in an otherwise unchanged XI.
Two players who will certainly be playing for Sri Lanka will be their middle order pair of skipper Dhananjaya de Silva and Kamindu Mendis who both hit centuries in the first and third innings of the game! Opener Dimuth Karunaratne was the only other Sri Lankan to hit a half-century and, with a consistent and strong record in Test cricket, is likely to be a top scorer in this match.

The forecast conditions are typical for Chattogram from day one to day five of this Test. No rain is expected but the temperature will be over 31 degrees from start to finish with a mixture of cloudy and sunny spells. Equally, it will be sweaty work out in the middle with humidity levels forecast to top 80% throughout the entire contest.
The pitch always turns in Chattogram! Whoever bats first will look to top 350 with the knowledge that batting will get no easier as the game progresses. We expect low bounce with the turn not necessarily fast but becoming larger as the game advances.
This pitch is likely to turn from ball one and most pundits expect it to become more and more spin friendly as the Test progresses. Therefore, it would be a huge shock if either skipper chose to field first in Chattogram.
Sri Lanka were the better side from start to finish in Sylhet last week and no one is expecting this Bangladesh team to be able to overcome the experienced visitors. Our prediction is for a closer contest but we are predicting Sri Lanka to come out on top once again.
We are backing Sri Lanka to win!
