The 2025 TNPL rolls on with Match 11 this Saturday evening in Salem as Dindigul Dragons take on Siechem Madurai Panthers. Both sides come into this one with a win and a loss, and they'll be looking to tilt the balance in their favor. The Dragons have had the upper hand against the Panthers in recent meetings, and while their last outing ended in a tough defeat, there’s every reason to expect a strong response from them this time.

Dindigul Dragons beat Siechem Madurai Panthers by 7 wickets
123/10 in 19.3
Dindigul Dragons opened their campaign with a convincing 7-wicket win over Lyca Kovai Kings, looking every bit like defending champs. But that early momentum didn’t last as they stumbled badly in their next game, getting bowled out for just 93 and suffering a 9-wicket loss to IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans. It was a disappointing outing, and they’ll be eager to move past it quickly.
Shivam Singh stood out in the first match, smashing an unbeaten 82 off 50 balls to seal the win. He’s clearly their go-to man with the bat. Vimal Khumar and captain Ravichandran Ashwin can offer valuable contributions at the top, giving the innings early direction.
Baba Indrajith is another batter worth keeping an eye on. He was the second-highest scorer for the side last season, putting up 286 runs in 10 innings with an average of 41 and a strike rate of 133.
The bowling unit is where Dindigul has real bite. Sandeep Warrier, Ashwin, and Ganeshan Periyaswamy picked up two wickets each in their season opener. The second game didn’t give them much room to work with, given the low total. Varun Chakaravarthy is also an important part of the attack and has been in great rhythm this year.

The Siechem Madurai Panthers didn’t start off on the right foot, falling to the Salem Spartans in their opener. But they bounced back quickly, outplaying Lyca Kovai Kings by seven wickets.
Ram Arvindh has been reliable with the bat so far, putting up 101 runs in two matches at a strike rate of 123.17. His 64 off 48 balls in the win over Lyca Kovai Kings played a big part in chasing down 170 without much trouble.
Alongside Arvindh, NS Chaturved and Balchander Anirudh have offered useful in the middle. Atheeq Ur Rahman is another name to keep in mind as he tends to keep things ticking along when he's out there.
With the ball, Murugan Ashwin has stood out, grabbing three wickets in two games while keeping things tight at 6.62 per over. P Vignesh and P Saravanan round out the attack and could come through with timely breakthroughs.

Scoring tends to be steady at the SCF Cricket Ground with a surface that stays true through the innings. Batters can play through the line without much concern, but it's not a total batting paradise either. Seamers who keep it tight in the first six can apply pressure. Spinners come into play as the ball gets older. Chasing sides have had a decent record, especially under lights when conditions settle down and grip becomes less of a factor.
The weather in Salem will be cloudy on Saturday with a touch of rain in the afternoon.
The average score batting first at the SCF Cricket Ground is 154. Last season, the highest total posted at the venue was Trichy Grand Cholas’ 193-2 versus Siechem Madurai Panthers. Both teams will eye a total of around 170-180 runs batting first to give themselves a solid chance.
Teams batting second have been doing really well at the SNR College Cricket Ground in the 2025 TNPL, and there's a good chance we’ll see more of the same at the SCF Cricket Ground. With most sides leaning toward chasing in T20s these days, that approach isn’t likely to change anytime soon.
Both Dindigul Dragons and Siechem Madurai Panthers have had a mixed start, winning one and dropping one. Both sides are looking to find some consistency as they head into this clash. On paper, the Dragons seem slightly ahead thanks to their strong bowling unit. That said, teams batting second tend to have an easier time at this ground. If the side batting first can put up a challenging total, they might just hold on.
Back Dindigul Dragons as the winners of this match.
