The first day of the 2024 T10 produced plenty of excitement on Wednesday with the format proving to be an immediate hit with ers in Pallekele as well as a wider TV audience.
So, no pressure, Thursday, but the level has been set and it's up to you to raise the bar!
Highlights of day one, which was unsurprisingly dominated by the bat over the ball, came from established cricket names such as Dasun Shanaka (51*), Tom Kohler-Core (57*), Avishka Fernando (50*), Dinesh Chandimal (66) and Andre Fletcher (41*).
The question is, who will step up on day two? Will it be the older guard dominating the headlines again, or will some new-pretenders step up in this game under lights?

106/8 in 10.0 10.6
Tom Kohler-Core has been impressing in white ball cricket for many years and it was no surprise to see his name up in lights whilst beginning the tournament with an unbeaten half-century on Wednesday. There was also an impressive first game performance from Tom Abell who hit 33 not out from 19 balls and he looks like he has the game to impress in this format.
With the ball, David Wiese is likely to lead the way and will find pace and bounce if there is any to be found. The real bowling star from Wednesday's performance for Jaffna Titans was Treveen Mathew who returned figures of 4/10 from his 2 overs! He will no doubt be a threat once again and is likely to be well backed up by Pramod Madushan.

Angelo Mathews won the toss in Match 2 but all he had to show for it was 6 overs in the field and a no result. Therefore, the batting line-up for Colombo Jaguars will be raring to go and be hoping to finally get an opportunity to show what they can do when this game gets underway under the lights on Thursday evening.
Kamindu Mendis is one of those batters who will be inpatient to get onto the field and comes into the tournament in fantastic form. Najibullah Zadran is a very reliable big-hitting batter at this level and skipper Angelo Mathews still has all of his match-winning ability.
With the ball, Ali Khan and Dilshan Madushanka should provide an excellent right-arm - left-arm pace option but even bowlers of their ability are likely to struggle in this format!

Once again, there is likely to be a strong threat of rain and thunderstorms on a hot, humid and sticky day in Kandy. Although by the time this game begins at 20:30 local time, the forecast is for any rain to have long gone.

With the boundaries brought in and the pitch looking every inch a batter's dream, we expect both teams to be looking for a total of 110+ if they bat first. Although this will be the third game of the day, the surface will not be showing any wear.
All three games on Wednesday saw the toss winning captain choose to field first in this tournament which is a continuation of the approach seen in T10 tournaments across the globe. We predict that both teams will want to bowl first in this game.
Colombo Jaguars are still something of an unknown quantity in this tournament whereas Jaffna Titans have already shown their prowess. We are predicting a close game with Jaffna Titans coming out on top.
