We have got off to a good start in the T20 Blast 2025, where we have seen close game. It will be a North Group clash in the 9th game, where the Lancashire Lightning are up against the Notts Outlaws. Lancashire Lightning defeated the Worcestershire Rapids in the last game and shall look to continue with their form at home. The Notts Outlaws defeated the Birmingham Bears in the last game and shall look for another win.

Lancashire Lightning have done well at this venue, winning six out of the last seven games. They also enjoy a good record against the Outlaws, with four wins in five games. The team will look to extend that with another clinical performance. The Notts Outlaws have their batsmen in good form, and it will be interesting to see if the team can leverage them to its advantage.

Lancashire Preview

Keaton Jennings' team did well in their opening game against the Worcestershire Rapids. The side, which was missing many of its key players in the first leg of the tournament, bowled well to win the game by 7 runs. It will be a tougher challenge against the Outlaws, and Jennings will look to lead from the front and take his side to a win.

Jennings was the top scorer for the team in the last game, and he looks forward to delivering a strong start with Luke Wells. Matthew Hurst missed out on the last game and must build partnerships in the middle order with Michael Jones and Ashton Turner. Chris Green and Jack Blatherwick must add quick runs in the lower middle order.

The bowling attack looked good in the last game, and they need early wickets from Luke Wood and Chris Green. Thomas Aspinwall used the conditions well in the last game, and he will look to keep the scoring under check in the middle overs with Mitchell Stanley. Luke Wells and Blatherwick add variety to this attack.

Nottinghamshire Preview

Joe Clarke will feel confident after his team's tremendous batting effort in the last game. In a high-scoring game against the Birmingham Bears, the side put up a clinical chase, winning by 7 wickets. Clarke would like a better show from his bowling unit, as they failed to trouble the batters in the last game.

Joe Clarke led from the front in the last game and will look to deliver a good start with Lyndon James. Jack Haynes' match-winning knock will make him confident. He must build partnerships in the middle order with Moises Henriques and Tom Moores. Matthew Montgomery and Daniel Sams added firepower to this batting lineup and will look to add quick runs.

The bowling attack struggled with its line and length in the last game. Dillon Pennington and Daniel Sams must get early breakthroughs and put Lancashire under pressure. Conor McKerr, Calvin Harrison, and Henriques will look to bowl tight spells in the middle overs. The side would also like to see a good show in the ing roles from Liam Patterson-White and Lyndon James.

Nottinghamshire Predicted Playing XI:

Weather Conditions

The skies will be clear over Manchester. The surface will be challenging to bat on as the ball moves off the surface. The average first-innings score at this venue is around 154 runs, and the side batting first will be happy to have 180 runs on the board as the wicket will help the bowlers.

Emirates Old Trafford, Manchester, usually has a good batting surface where the ball comes onto the bat nicely and allows batsmen to play their strokes. Fast bowlers do well with the new ball as there is assistance for them, and the larger size of the boundaries also allows the spinners to try out their variations.

Toss: To Bowl

The wicket has been tricky at this venue in recent years. The side chasing the score in the last four games has won thrice. It will play on the minds of both captains during the toss. The side winning the toss won't hesitate to bowl first.

The Notts Outlaws struggled with the ball in the last game. None of their bowlers troubled the batters, which will worry the team heading into this game. They need a strong comeback from their bowlers to win. The Lancashire Lightning will be happy with their good show in the last game and have a strong bowling attack. It will be a nail-biting contest, but Lightning has a slight edge.
