LSW vs BRMW Live Prediction

2024-07-27 20:36:45

London Spirit to score over 162.5 runs in 100 balls @ 1.85 (Stake.com)

With Meg Lanning and Danielle Gibson scoring at a swift rate and the conditions favouring the batters, we predict London Spirit to reach the 163 run mark in 100 balls.

2024-07-27 20:16:15

London Spirit to score over 124.5 runs in 15 overs (75 balls) @ 1.85 (Stake.com)

London Spirit is scoring at 1.71 runs per ball, and with two set batters in form like Meg Lanning and Heather Knight striking well, they will look to accelerate and capitalize on this momentum. Given the way both batters are scoring, we predict the score to be over 124.5 runs in 75 balls.

London Spirit are aiming for a second consecutive win at the start of the season following a sparkling victory over Southern Brave in the opening match. After electing to field first, the Spirit made lightweight of the chase after hitting 153 in just 97 balls and losing just four wickets. The Spirit can take plenty of positives from the opening game.

Birmingham Phoenix are aiming for their first victory of the season and a first win against the Spirits. It has been a dreadful time against the Spirit for Phoenix with three consecutive defeats. Ellyse Perry’s team could not recover from a poor start against the Invincibles and they lost by 45 runs.

The iconic Lord’s in London will host this fifth game of the Hundred Women's Competition 2024.

London Spirit Women Preview

London Spirit Women are delighted to have begun the new campaign with a win. After having finished less than fifth in back-to-back campaigns, Spirit have a lot of reasons to be motivated after this winning start. The team were able to pick up wickets at regular intervals and it played a decisive role in beating the defending champions.

Heather Knight had a fine start to the season with 65 against Southern Brave. It follows up on her impressive set of performances for England in the recent WT20I series. Knight managed to hit 65 runs from just 31 balls – courtesy of nine boundaries and a six.

Another good performer from the opening game was Georgia Redmayne, who fell just five runs short of a half-century. After showing impressive form for the South East Stars in the Charlotte Edwards Cup, Redmayne is looking to enhance the batting line-up with some fine knocks.

Sarah Glenn was economical with only 29 runs conceded from her 20 balls without picking up a wicket. Erin Burns was able to strike the top order of Southern Brave with the crucial wickets of Danni Wyatt, who was last season’s top scorer, and Charli Knott.

LSW-W Over/Under Betting Tips

Meg Lanning to score over 22.5 runs 1.85

Bet now

Meg Lanning looked good in her debut Hundred match, scoring 12 runs from 12 balls before mistiming a shot back to the bowler. With a wealth of experience in the shorter format and a consistent record of big scores, we back Lanning to bounce back and score over 22.5 runs against the Phoenix Women.

London Spirit Women Predicted Playing XI:

Meg Lanning, Georgia Redmayne, Cordelia Griffith, Heather Knight (c), Danielle Gibson, Erin Burns, Charlie Dean, Eva Gray, Sarah Glenn, Sophie Munro, Tara Norris

Birmingham Phoenix Women Preview

Birmingham Phoenix Women did not have a great outing in their last match against London Spirit Women. They did not fare well even in the opening game against the Oval Invincibles. Despite an early wicket, Phoenix were on the back foot throughout the match and had a crumbling batting line-up for the reasons concern ahead of the game.

Only four batters were able to reach double figures with Amy Jones managing a high of 21 from 15 balls. The Phoenix were able to clear the ropes only once in the game and they also came in with just nine boundaries in the entire innings. Phoenix badly need a big boost to their batting line-up or they stand little chance of being able to succeed in the match.

Emily Arlott came in with the best bowling figures for the Phoenix with two wickets for 19 runs. She was also the most economical of the bunch. After failing to pick up any wickets in the last meeting with the Spirit, Arlott will be keen to add to a good start.

BIP-W Over/Under Betting Tips

Suzie Bates to score over 17.5 runs 1.85

Bet now

Suzie Bates scored just 6 runs in her last innings against the Oval Invincibles and struggled to find her rhythm. However, it's a new day, and Bates will look to bounce back against an opponent against whom she has scored 55 runs in two matches, averaging 27.5. We back Bates to regain her form and play a match-winning knock against the London Spirit.

Birmingham Phoenix Women Predicted Playing XI:

Suzie Bates, Sterre Kalis, Ellyse Perry (c), Sophie Devine, Amy Jones, Seren Smale, Emily Arlott, Issy Wong, Charis Pavely, Hannah Baker, Katie Levick

Weather Conditions

The weather conditions in Lord’s are expected to be around 23°C on Saturday. The game will be played and partly cloudy conditions with the potential for rain at a very low 10%. Even though the venue is a regular for test matches and ODI games, it hosted four games from the Hundred Women’s competition in 2023. In these four matches, the average first innings score was 127 while the second innings score on average was 131.

LSW vs BRMW Pitch Report

Lord’s Cricket Ground is one of the iconic venues in cricket. The highest score posted on this ground in 2023 by the Spirit was 135 against the Northern Superchargers. The Phoenix posted a total of just 82 in their last game at the Lord's.

Toss: To Bowl

At the start of last season, four of the fixtures at the Lord’s witnessed teams fielding first ending up successful. Lord’s will likely have a friendly pitch for chasing the game. Spirit also did very well to chase the game against Southern Brave. In the last three head-to-head meetings between the Phoenix and Spirit, the teams have chosen to bowl first. The Spirit came out on top in two of these games when they fielded first against the Phoenix.

London Spirit Women are heading into the game on a high after the success over the defending champions. Meanwhile, Phoenix are slipping to new lows and they have struggled to make any meaningful impact in the match against the Oval Invincibles. There has been a big lack of strength and form in the batting and bowling order of the Phoenix. Spirit could be heading for a comfortable win.

Our prediction is for London Spirit Women to win
