The IPL 2025 season has delivered over two months of intense, action-packed cricket, and now only two teams are left standing. Royal Challengers Bengaluru will clash with Punjab Kings in the final showdown this Tuesday night in Ahmedabad. With both chasing their first-ever title, the stage is set for a fierce, edge-of-the-seat battle. This could easily go deep into the final overs, with both teams throwing everything they’ve got at the biggest game of the season.

RCB have been on a roll all season and punched their way into the finals by steamrolling Punjab Kings in the Qualifier. After skittling them for 101, they hunted down the target in just 10 overs, dropping only two wickets in the process.
That kind of dominance lifts team morale in a big way heading into the title clash. Both departments have pulled their weight. Virat Kohli has been the engine with the bat—614 runs from 15 innings, averaging 56 with a strike rate of 146.53. He’s chalked up eight half-centuries and looks primed for another big knock when it matters most.
Phil Salt hasn’t piled on huge totals, but he sets the tempo early. His 56 off 27 in Qualifier 1 took the pressure off the chase right away, and this is exactly the kind of performance expected from him in the final. Skipper Rajat Patidar appears fully recovered and adds stability in the middle. He’s been good for 25-30 runs consistently and should deliver again.
RCB have also found some solid backup performances. Mayank Agarawal has come through with useful knocks in the middle overs, while Jitesh Sharma exploded in the final group stage game against LSG, slamming 85* off 33 to pull off a massive chase.
Late in the order, Romario Shepherd and Tim David bring the muscle for the death overs.
The bowling lineup got a serious lift with Josh Hazlewood returning from injury in the first Qualifier. He wasted no time, taking 3 for 21 in 3.1 overs. He’ll be RCB’s go-to man with the ball in the final.
Alongside him, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Krunal Pandya bring calm and control. Even Yash Dayal and Suyash Sharma, often targeted by opponents, turned things around last match with five wickets between them.
Mayank Agarwal has scored 19 & 41* runs in the last two matches. He has bought in the much needed experience in the middle order for RCB. He has a very good record at Ahmedabad (164 runs in 4 matches, average - 54.33). He is in good form ahead of the final and we predict he will score over 21 runs in this fixture.

After getting completely outplayed by Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Qualifier 1, Punjab Kings bounced back hard in the second Qualifier, beating Mumbai Indians by 5 wickets to make their second-ever IPL final. Captain Shreyas Iyer was at the heart of it once more, hammering an unbeaten 87 off just 41 balls to chase down a stiff target of 204 without much trouble.
That win would’ve lifted spirits in the Punjab camp and given them real momentum heading into the final against RCB.
Batting has been Punjab’s main strength this season. Prabhsimran Singh (523 runs from 16 innings) and Priyansh Arya (451 runs from 16 innings) have been steady up top, giving the team solid starts. They’ll be hoping one of them finds rhythm again one final time.
Shreyas Iyer has anchored the middle order with confidence, scoring 597 runs in 16 games at a strike rate of 175. He’s come through when it mattered, like he did in the last game, and he’ll need to do it again in the final. Nehal Wadhera hasn’t played any huge innings, but his knocks—like the 48 off 29 against MI in the second Qualifier—have mattered in pressure moments.
Marcus Stoinis and Josh Inglis have chipped in too. Stoinis has been useful in the back end, while Inglis, often batting at three or four, has brought a burst of energy. When he gets going, he’s the kind of player who can flip the game fast.
Shashank Singh has played his part as well, staying calm and finishing off tight chases.
The bowling has had its ups and downs, but there’s ability in the group. Arshdeep Singh has led the way with 18 wickets in 16 matches, going at 8.79 an over. His knack for finding yorkers late in the innings will matter again.
With Marco Jansen missing, there’s more riding on Kyle Jamieson. He can be expensive at times, but when he’s on, he’s a handful—as seen in the first Qualifier against RCB (1 for 27 in three overs) and again against MI (1 for 30 in four) in the second Qulaifier.
Yuzvendra Chahal is back in the side, and that’s made a real difference. The veteran spinner, alongside Vijaykumar Vyshak, could have a real say in the middle overs on this track.
Punjab Kings smashed 29 sixes in the two matches played at Ahmedabad this season, and that too against the two best bowling attacks of the season in the form of Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans. With the kind of batting lineup and power hitters they have, we back the Kings to deposit over 9 sixes into the stands in the final.
Josh Inglis has provided the much needed fire power in the top order for Punjab Kings this season and has smashed the best bowlers of the season. Inglis has scored 239 runs in 10 matches and has scored over 30 runs in four of the last five matches. Given his current form, we back Inglis to score over 21 runs in the final against RCB.
The captain of Punjab Kings played a magnificent knock in the last match (87* runs) against the top-quality bowling lineup of Mumbai Indians. This season, Iyer has scored 603 runs in 16 matches, but against RCB, he has scored only 15 runs in 3 matches. We back Iyer to have his redemption against RCB and play a match-winning knock in the final, scoring over 28 runs.

The Narendra Modi Stadium pitch usually works well for T20s — batters tend to find it favorable, though pacers and those who vary their pace can also get some reward. As the game progresses, the pitch can slow down a bit, which makes it tougher to score freely later on. That said, it's generally a good surface for building a total.
Conditions in Ahmedabad are expected to be hot and dry, with no rain on the radar.

Average TurnThe Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad usually offers batting-friendly conditions, with the first innings average sitting at 177. That said, the last three matches here saw teams batting first post over 200. Since this is the final, both sides will be looking at putting up a hefty total to give themselves some breathing room if the bowlers don't hit their spots. A score in the 210-215 range will probably be the target for either team to feel they’ve set things up well.
The average total match score in the 8 matches played in Ahmedabad this season is 406 runs. Ahmedabad has traditionally been a high-scoring venue, and with power-packed batting lineups squaring off, expect both teams to come hard. We predict the total match score to be over 379 runs.
We back Punjab Kings to win the coin toss against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the final match of IPL 2025 at Ahmedabad.
Out of the eight matches played in Ahmedabad during IPL 2025, six have gone in favor of the side batting first. This clearly shows that batting first is more beneficial at this venue. Moreover, considering it’s the final, and the pressure will be massive, opting to set a target rather than chase could be the smarter move.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Kings are both chasing their first-ever IPL trophy. For RCB, it’s their first finals appearance in nine years, while Punjab are back in the final after an eleven-year wait. There’s bound to be some nerves on both sides. That said, RCB will walk in feeling better about their chances. They’ve already beaten Punjab twice this season, including a dominant win in the first Qualifier. That kind of result can make a real difference in of mindset. However, that win in the second Qualifier would have lifted Punjab too, and they will come back hard. This could go either way, with both teams giving it their all, but Punjab’s strong batting just gives them that extra edge. If Punjab's top-order fail, however, it will be RCB who will lift the trophy, but for now, it’s 51-49 in Punjab’s favour.
Punjab Kings are our picks for the winners of the IPL crown.
