The second match of the Namibia T20 Tri-Series will see the United Arab Emirates lock horns with the United States. U.A.E. are coming off a thumping win against hosts Namibia in the first match of the tournament and will be eager to maintain their momentum. However, USA can’t be taken lightly as they have been in great form of late.

United Arab Emirates Preview

UAE secured a convincing win in the first match of the series against Namibia courtesy of a remarkable batting performance. Batting first, they posted a mammoth 245-2 on the board and went on to win the game by 40 runs. 

Openers Alishan Sharafu (73 off 33 balls) and Muhammad Waseem (89* off 50 balls) were the standouts, blasting 130 runs together in 10.2 overs. With the conditions being ideal for batting at the start of the innings, expect these two to provide another quickfire start.

Basil Hameed is in terrific, striking form as well and will fancy his chances for another impactful cameo. 

Watch out for Ali Naseer! He’s a dynamic lower-order batsman capable of delivering impactful performances late in the innings. Plus, he has the skills to contribute with his medium-pace bowling in the middle overs.

On the bowling front, Aayan Afzal Khan, Muhammad Jawadullah, and Junaid Siddique are our top picks, as they have been in excellent wicket-taking form this season

United States of America Preview

USA are coming into this tri-series on the back of some incredible winning momentum. In the ICC World Cup League 2 matches that were held in Windhoek this month, USA won each of their four games and was the best team in the tournament that also included Namibia and U.A.E.

Led by Monank Patel, this talented bunch boasts a strong batting unit. The captain himself has been in superb touch, notching up 321 runs across 7 innings in the ICC World Cup League 2.

Milind Kumar is another batter to watch out for. He has been excellent for USA these last few months and has piled on 354 runs in 7 innings at an average of 70 in the ICC World Cup League 2.

The bowling department will be led by the ever-impressive Saurabh Netravalkar, who was USA’s best bowler in this year’s T20 World Cup. You can also back Nosthush Kenjige and Harmeet Singh, as they are reliable wicket-takers.

Weather Conditions

As we saw in the first game of the series, the Wanderers Cricket Ground offers a great batting wicket, which stays true. Thpace,e ball comes on at a nice height and pace and batters can hit through the line comfortably. Batters will try and maximize the first 6-8 overs, although conditions will remain good for batting throughout.  

The weather in Windhoek during the match will remain bright and clear with no threat of rain.

This is a great venue for batting. In the first game, U.A.E. smashed a colossal 245-2 after batting first against Namibia. The team batting first will be looking to set a target of around 200 runs at least.
