Test cricket fans - this is for you! After another two years with a slightly confusing structure and points system, the World Test Championship Final is finally here and this time it will be South Africa and Australia who will be fighting it out for the ICC Champions Mace!
Lord's The Venue
The first WTC Final took place between India and New Zealand at the Rose Bowl, Southampton and it was the Black Caps who won the inaugural competition.
Two years later, India returned to the final, once again in England, but this time against Australia who won by a large margin at The Oval ahead of the 2023 Ashes Series.
Now, after beginning in June 2023, the 2023-25 World Test Championship concludes at the Home of Cricket - a fitting venue for a game of such prestige!

What's The Weather Doing?
In front of a full house and when the sun shines, there are few better places to bat in world cricket than at Lord's!
According to the weather forecast, there could be some rain showers and certainly plenty more cloud cover on Thursday and Friday so it looks like day one will be the best time to bat in this WTC Final.
Expect the temperature to get up to 24 degrees, nothing new for the pace bowlers from Australia or South Africa, but certainly warm enough for them to toil after a few overs of hard yards!
August 2024 at Lord's
There were two centurions in the first innings in the last Test Match at Lord's when England took on Sri Lanka last August.
It was no surprise to see the great Joe Root make 143 but there was a surprise to see the other name on the famous Honour's Board when Gus Atkinson, who only made his Test debut earlier in the summer, made 118 from number eight!
Day one of that Test ended with England on 358/7 and it will be very interesting to see where Australia or South Africa are at the end of Wednesday's play, not to mention if anyone else has made a ton to get their name on the board in the pavillion.
