English Cricket is all set to welcome the Vitality Blast 2025 from the 29th of May. With 120+ group stage games and 7 knockout games, Somerset will start their campaign against Surrey at The Cooper Associates County Ground, Taunton on 30th May from 11 PM onwards. Somerset had last won the tournament back in 2023. The inaugural T20 Blast winner, Surrey, had never managed to win the silverware since 2003.
Somerset suffered a heartbreak in the last season after suffering an 8-wicket defeat against Gloucestershire in the Final. Tom Banton finished the season as the leading run-scorer for Somerset with 515 runs. On the other hand, Ben Green clinched 21 wickets to top the bowling chart. Unfortunately for Somerset, Green won’t be playing this season for them.

He will be leading the side this season. His brother Tom finished the season as the leading wicket-taker with 16 wickets. They lost the semi-final against Somerset.

In 23 T20I games hosted here, results have favored the teams defending the target on 13 occasions. The average first innings score is 147. The team winning the toss should bat first.
Somerset finished the last two seasons on a high. In 2023, they won the trophy while missing out on making it back-to-back in 2024. They have a balanced squad as compared to Surrey. The return of Tom Banton and Matt Henry will give them the upper hand over the visitors. Besides this, Somerset has 4 wins in the last five T20 Blast games against Surrey.
We predict that Somerset will defeat Surrey.
