After a humiliating English tour, the West Indies Women are back at their home to host South Africa Women for a three-match ODI series, followed by a three-match T20 series. The first ODI of the tournament will be played at the Three Ws Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados, on 11th June from 7:30 PM onwards. The West Indies have never won an ODI against the visitors.
West Indies Women are coming from a massive setback on the English tour. They first lost the T20I series by 3-0, followed by a 3-0 loss in the ODI series. They lost these games by 108 runs, 143 runs, and by 9 wickets, respectively. They will now play the first ODI within three days. Hayley Matthews was unavailable for the last two ODIs, and her participation in this series is uncertain.
South Africa Women head into this ODI series with plenty to prove, having fallen short in the recent tri-series in Sri Lanka. They managed just one win in four matches—losing twice to India and once to the hosts—ultimately missing out on a spot in the final. With only three wins in their last 13 ODIs, the Proteas are in search of consistency and a much-needed turnaround.
Both teams played against each other back in 2022. Batting first, WI Women managed to score 174 runs after Kycia Knight scored a needed 48. Shabnim Ismail took 4 wickets for SA Women. A half century from Andrie Steyn and 47 from the skipper Sune Luus helped SA Women win the game by 6 wickets.

With the bat, she scored 71 runs in the last series. Fletcher went for 65 runs in the first game while picking 2 wickets. The rain is expected to play a spoilsport. It is a bowling-friendly pitch. It is a paradise for both batters and bowlers as it offers balance in all innings. The wind will help the pacers swing the ball.
The game will be played at the Three Ws Oval, Bridgetown, Barbados, on 11th June from 7:30 PM onwards. The stadium has a capacity of 2000 spectators. It has hosted just one Youth ODI so far.
In 1 ODI game hosted here, the result has favored the teams defending the target. The average first innings score is 196. The team winning the toss should bowl first.
Both teams are currently going through a poor form in the ODI format. But it's SA Women who have a better history while playing against the WI Women. They have a balanced batting lineup and a lethal bowling unit. SA Women have never lost an ODI against West Indies Women. The addition of Kapp has bolstered the bowling attack, which now has 7 seamers on a bouncy track.
