The North Group of the 2025 T20 Blast continues at a pace on Friday evening as Northants look to continue their impressive start to the season at Worcester.
Worcestershire lost their first game of the campaign against Lancashire but bounced back with a 60 run (DLS) victory over Yorkshire to put points on the board!
So far in the North Group, it is Lancashire who have made the early running but their 100% run was brought to an end by Leicestershire and it is Northants who could be the beneficiary of that as if they win then they will take over at the summit of the table.
The last two head to heads have been closely fought, Northants winning by 11 runs and six runs in 2024 and by six wickets with two balls remaining in June 2023. For Worcestershire, they need to go back to May 2023 to find the last time they came out on top against Northants!

Worcestershire's victory over Yorkshire was put together thanks to a fine innings at the top of the order from captain Brett Oliveira who hit 79 runs from 48 balls with an innings which included seven fours and four sixes.
There was also assistance from Adam Hose at number four who struck six fours and a six in his 54 runs from 37 balls and the pair are likely to be the main source of runs for the home side once again in this game.
With the ball, the pair from down-under, New Zealand's Jacob Duffy and Australia's Ben Dwarshuis, look set to be the main danger for Northants' impressive batting line-up.
Alongside Duffy and Dwarshuis, 25 year old English right-arm fast medium bowler Adam Finch is also a key part of the attack and comes into this game after taking two wickets against Yorkshire.

So far in this campaign, Northants have found a way to win three times and in their last victory, up against Derbyshire on Wednesday, it was achieved despite falling to 7/1, 15/2 and 24/3.
Northants were eventually able to post 194/6 thanks to their trusty old-timers - captain David Willey and Ravi Bopara - with the former England international all-rounders putting on 75 for the fourth wicket to get the team back on track.
In this game, expect Bopara to look to maintain his brilliant form which has seen him hit 46 and 84 without being dismissed across the last two games.
With the ball, Willey once again stood up, picking up a wicket with the second ball of the innings and finishing with 2/19 from his four overs.
Expect Willey, Ben Sanderson and Luke Proctor to be the dangermen in the bowling attack in this clash.

The County Ground in Worcester often provides assistance to the bowlers with movement off the pitch as well as through the air. A par score is likely to be in the region of 175-185 in the first innings of the game.
Both teams won their last games after batting first so we predict that both captains will go out for the toss wanting to bat first again on Friday evening in Worcester.
Although Worcestershire bounced back from their opening game defeat with a strong win in their second match, Northants are the team to beat and the pace-setters in the group. Therefore we are backing Northants to add another victory to their tally in this game.
