Somerset Preview

Despite opener Tom Banton being dismissed for a four-ball duck and Tom Abell making just two runs from six balls at number four, Somerset were still able to get the better of local rivals Gloucestershire on Thursday evening.

They will now be looking to make it six wins from six matches on Sunday afternoon when Kent arrive and the hosts have been in exceptional form with their self-belief at an all time high.

Ahead of this game, it is Lewis Goldsworthy who comes in enjoying the best form after he took 4/13 from four overs and the experienced trio of Craig Overton, Matt Henry and captain Lewis Gregory will all be ready to strike in this clash.

With the bat, opener Will Smeed, along with Tom Banton and Tom Kohler-Core will all play in an aggressive style at the top of the order and will look to pile the pressure on Kent's bowlers.

Jack Leaning also hit 24 runs from 16 balls at number six and when you also throw in Tawnda Muyeye at the top of the order and Sam Billings at number five, there are lots of match-winning batters in the side.

Kent have lost two games all season with both defeats coming from the last three games, a run which was preceded by a no-result. Therefore, Kent travel to Somerset with only one win from their last four matches.

Spinner Matt Parkinson conceded 25 runs from two overs against Surrey but he should have more joy in Taunton. The experienced Tom Rogers and compatriot Wes Agar will be the dangermen in this game.
